A case of bribery has come to light in the country's largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This case related to bribery has become a topic of discussion in the company. TCS has been recruiting 50,000 employees everyyear for the past three years .
Some senior officials of TCS were accepting bribes from staffing companies instead of giving jobs to their candidates. According to the report, the scam was going on for several years.
TCS, a Tata group company, has taken immediate action after this case came to light. The company has sacked four executives from its resource management group (RMG) and banned three staffing firms.
According to the report, the entire case came to light when a whistleblower wrote to the company's CEO and COO claiming that RMG's Global President , ES Chakraborty, was accepting bribes from staffing firms hiring staff for the company to hire candidates .
After the case came to light, the IT chief constituted a three-member committee, including Chief Information Security Officer Ajith Menon, to probe the allegations.
After the investigation, TCSA put its recruitment chief on leave and four RMG officials were sacked. ES Chakraborty was stopped from coming to the office.
Along with this, another officer of the division, Arun GK, was also dismissed by the company. The report quoted an official as saying that in the last three years, the company had employed three lakh people, including contractors. According to him, according to an estimate, the people involved in the scam earned at least Rs 100 crore through commission.
