Who are the judges who slapped Nupur Sharma?

A vacation bench of the Supreme Court on Friday slammed Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks on the Prophet. However, with Nupur Sharma's criticism, the judges of the vacation bench have come to the fore.

Judge JB Pardiwala, who was present in the bench, held Nupur Sharma's statement responsible for the Udaipur incident. Judge Pardiwala has previously been embroiled in controversy over his rulings. In 2013, about six members of the Rajya Sabha demanded that the then Speaker and Vice President Hamid Ansari initiate impeachment proceedings against Judge Pardiwala.

The Rajya Sabha MPs alleged that Judge Pardiwala had made "unconstitutional" remarks on the reservation issue during the hearing of a petition seeking removal of the treason clause registered against the Patidar leader and others. Justice Pardiwala said at the time, "I believe that reservation and corruption are the two things that stop the country from moving in the right direction." His remarks were later removed from the Speaking to Minutes order. Pardiwala also slammed the state government over the mismanagement of Corona in Gujarat during the hearing of a petition filed in the Gujarat High Court in May 2020.

Judge Suryakant on Friday said about Nupur Sharma that no spokesperson of any national party is allowed to speak in a statement during a TV debate. Ego appears in their gestures. They have come straight to the Supreme Court instead of going to the lower court. Delhi Police has laid a red carpet for Nupur Sharma.
