New Delhi: BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma was on Friday slapped by the Supreme Court for her remarks on the Prophet. The Supreme Court held Nupur Sharma responsible for everything that is happening in the country today, including the murder of tailor Kanaiyalal in Udaipur. The apex court had also rejected Nupur Sharma's plea to transfer cases across the country to Delhi over controversial remarks about the Prophet. The Supreme Court said Nupur should apologize to the country on TV. The apex court had asked Sharma to go to the high court on the issue of his application.

The apex court on Friday expressed displeasure over Nupur Sharma's remarks about the Prophet. Nupur Sharma demanded that cases in different states of the country should be transferred to Delhi as she was receiving death threats. Hearing the plea, the apex court, instead of granting relief to Nupur Sharma, struck down her.

A vacation bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala said their remarks had provoked sentiments across the country. They are responsible for everything that is happening in the country today. "We've seen the debate, tried to provoke him, but what he said after that is even more embarrassing," the bench said. Nupur Sharma and her light tongue have set the whole country on fire. He is also responsible for the unfortunate incident that took place in Udaipur. These people have no respect for other religions.

Nupur Sharma's remarks against the Prophet were made for cheap propaganda, political agenda or some nefarious activities, the bench said. Nupur Sharma was the spokesperson of a party, the intoxication of power had crept into her mind. If there is a spokesperson of any party, he gives any statement without considering the law of the land. In a democracy, everyone has the right to speak. In a democracy, grass has the right to grow grass and donkeys have the right to eat grass.

"If an FIR is registered against any person, the police will arrest him immediately, but you have not been arrested yet despite several FIRs being registered against you," the apex court said. This shows your dominance. Delhi Police has laid a red carpet for you. With this, the Supreme Court rejected Nupur Sharma's plea and asked her to go to the High Court. Nupur Sharma withdrew the petition after being slapped by the Supreme Court. Nupur Sharma is now likely to file an application in the High Court.

Petition to CJI to withdraw harsh remarks against Nupur Sharma

A new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court in this regard after the vacation bench of the apex court struck down Nupur Sharma.

The petition seeks withdrawal of remarks made against Nupur Sharma. The petition said that the remarks made against Nupur should be withdrawn so that a fair hearing could take place. Supreme Court advocate Ajay Gautam has filed a letter petition before the chief justice against the harsh remarks made by a bench headed by Justice Suryakant. The petition said the bench's verbal remarks could affect the case. He termed the remarks of judges Suryakant and JB Pardiwala in the Nupur Sharma case as unnecessary. He said Nupur Sharma was receiving death threats.

Who are the judges who slapped Nupur Sharma?

Justice Pardiwala had slammed the Gujarat government over the Koro issue

- Pardiwala's comment on reservation issue was later removed from the Speaking to Minutes order

A vacation bench of the Supreme Court on Friday slammed Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks on the Prophet. However, with Nupur Sharma's criticism, the judges of the vacation bench have come to the fore.

Judge JB Pardiwala, who was present in the bench, held Nupur Sharma's statement responsible for the Udaipur incident. Judge Pardiwala has previously been embroiled in controversy over his rulings. In 2013, about six members of the Rajya Sabha demanded that the then Speaker and Vice President Hamid Ansari initiate impeachment proceedings against Judge Pardiwala.

The Rajya Sabha MPs alleged that Judge Pardiwala had made "unconstitutional" remarks on the reservation issue during the hearing of a petition seeking removal of the treason clause registered against the Patidar leader and others. Justice Pardiwala said at the time, "I believe that reservation and corruption are the two things that stop the country from moving in the right direction." His remarks were later removed from the Speaking to Minutes order. Pardiwala also slammed the state government over the mismanagement of Corona in Gujarat during the hearing of a petition filed in the Gujarat High Court in May 2020.

Judge Suryakant on Friday said about Nupur Sharma that no spokesperson of any national party is allowed to speak in a statement during a TV debate. Ego appears in their gestures. They have come straight to the Supreme Court instead of going to the lower court. Delhi Police has laid a red carpet for Nupur Sharma.
