Yogi’s bulldozer turned again on the illicit property of the accused of violence

Kanpur: Violence erupted in several states after BJP leader Nupur Sharma's controversial statement against the Prophet Mohammad. The government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started operating bulldozers in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where the violence first erupted. Bulldozers have started turning on all the accused who have confiscated illegal assets.

JCP Anand Prakash Tiwari said the illegal building of Mohammad Ishtiaq, a relative of Zafar Hayat Hashmi, the main accused in the Kanpur violence, had been demolished.

The building was recently constructed but has been claimed by the administration to be illegal.

According to Tiwari, the building was found to have been invested by the main accused, after which the action was taken.

Violence erupted in Kanpur on June 3 during protests over Nupur Sharma's statement. A total of 30 people, including some policemen, were injured in the violence. The militants used petrol bombs and set fire to people's vehicles and shops.

Zafar Hashmi, the main accused in the violence, has been arrested and remanded for three hours. Hashmi and other accused are also being prosecuted.
