Two accused arrested for strangulation in Udaipur for posting in support of Nupur

Udaipur: A tailor was strangled to death in broad daylight in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The repercussions are being felt across Rajasthan and other cities across the country. A large number of people have taken to the streets in Udaipur, Rajasthan. In view of the outbreak of violence, internet service has been shut down in Udaipur and 300 policemen have been deployed. Two accused have been arrested. An NIA team has reached Udaipur for investigation on suspicion of a terrorist act in the incident.

A post in support of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma, who made a controversial statement about the Prophet Mohammad, was released on social media by the late Kanhaiya Lal. As a result, he had been receiving threats for a long time. He was also given security by the police. However, six days after the security was lifted, he was strangled to death. As a result, the situation in Udaipur and surrounding areas has become tense.

According to the information received, Kanhaiyalal Teli, a resident of Udaipur, was doing silikam. He went to his shop on Tuesday as usual and was doing his work. Two persons entered the shop under the pretext of doing silikam. Before Kanhaiyalal could understand, the two men grabbed him and killed him by cutting his throat with a knife. The killers made a video of the whole incident and posted it on social media. They also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hawassingh Ghumaria, additional director of the police department, said not a single killer would be spared. They also appealed to the public not to watch or share the video of the murder.

In Udaipur, on the other hand, in a video posted on social media by the killers after they killed a tailor in public, they claimed that the killing was done to avenge the insult to Islam. There are reports that terrorists may be responsible for the killings. Following which, an NIA team has been sent to Udaipur by the Home Ministry. Which will investigate this massacre from a terrorist angle. At the same time, the case may be handed over to the NIA. An official said that at first glance, the massacre was a terrorist act. Those who posted the video and took responsibility for the murder have been arrested by the police.

The video, which has been released on social media, shows Mohammad Riaz Akhtar and Mohammad Ghosh with weapons in their hands. They have claimed responsibility for the killings. He has also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Alerts have been issued by the police in all the districts of Rajasthan after the video went viral on social media. And the SP and IG of each district have been ordered to maintain peace. Internet service has been suspended for 3 hours in Udaipur.

Killers will not be spared, keep the peace: Gehlot

According to police, Kanhaiyalal was receiving death threats from some organizations and anti-social elements after he posted in support of Nupur Sharma on social media. Describing the incident as shameful and painful, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, "Strict action will be taken. I urge the people to keep the peace and not release the video of the incident as it will help the perpetrators spread hatred in the society." Two persons have been arrested and are being questioned in the case.

Riaz cut his throat, his partner made a video

Police said one of the two assailants, Mohammad Riaz Akhtar, strangled Kanhaiya Lal to death while another person accompanying him filmed the entire murder.

The video was later released on social media along with another threatening video, after which the whole affair spread like wildfire.

A large number of people took to the roads in Udaipur and some fire incidents have also taken place.

Cruel Massacre Against Islam, Punish the Killers: Jamiat

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, one of India's top Muslim organizations, slammed the Udaipur massacre, saying it was against Islam. Anyone responsible for the murder should be severely punished. Jamiat general secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Kasmi said in a statement that the killings were against Islam and the law. No one has the power to take the law into their own hands. They also appealed for peace across the country. A video was released claiming that the killings were an insult to Islam, after which the statement was issued by Jamiat and appealed to the people not to support the killers.
