Blizzard temperatures rise in Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand: Janajivan Thap

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand experienced a sleet of snow. In addition to the snowfall, some areas also received rainfall. Blizzard was ravaged by life. In many areas of Himachal Pradesh, the mercury dropped to zero.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Gulmarg, Baramulla, Ananganag, Pahalgam, Kokarnag, etc. received 10 to 11 inches of snow. Heavy snowfall blocked roads in these areas.

Some sites had snowfall of five to seven inches. There were two centimeters of snowfall in and around Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir was experiencing a bitter cold due to snowfall.

Temperatures reached zero in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. School-colleges were closed due to snowfall in Kinnaur district. Apart from the snowfall, many areas of the state also received rainfall. The temperature of Kufri near Shimla was minus zero.

Many roads around Shimla were closed due to snowfall. Gondala, Khadraja, Kothi, Kaelong etc. of Himachal Pradesh recorded rainfall of 31 mm to 45 mm. In many places, temperature mercury dropped to two degrees.

In all four places of Uttarakhand, there was rain and snow. Due to this, many roads were closed to the surrounding areas. Snow, rain and cool breeze in addition to the cold weather experienced cold in Hardwar, Chamoli, Gopeshwar, Joshimath etc. In Chamoli, Joshimath, areas were also facing halaki due to lightning.
