India has launched Operation Indrawati for the return of Indian citizens from Haiti. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has given this information. Jaishankar said that our government is fully committed to the safety and well-being of Indians living abroad. He informed that the Indian nationals from Haiti will be taken out and sent to the Dominican Republic. Recently, the Indian government said that it is worried about the difficult situation in Haiti. We are considering evacuating 90 Indians from Haiti.

Jaishankar posted on X and said that India has evacuated 12 Indians from Haiti today. We are fully committed to the safety and well-being of citizens. Along with this, he has also thanked the Dominican Republic government. Along with the post, Jaishankar also shared a picture on X. It is worth mentioning that there is no embassy of India in Haiti. The situation there is being monitored by the Indian Mission based in Santo Domingo, the capital of Dominican Republic.

The Prime Minister has resigned

It is worth mentioning that Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry recently resigned from his post due to violence and looting. After resigning, he appealed to maintain peace in the country.

Violence continues in Haiti

The situation in the Caribbean country of Haiti continues to deteriorate due to civil war. 3,62,000 Haitians had to be displaced due to the violence that spread in the country. Armed gangs have captured the nation's capital. They are targeting many government buildings including Rashtrapati Bhavan. Bullets are running on the road. Armed gangs are vandalizing shops and houses. After which emergency has been imposed in Haiti for 72 hours.
