The future of Uddhav government will be decided at 5 pm: Cabinet meeting along with the Supreme Court hearing

Navi Mumbai, Ta. Wednesday, June 29, 2022

Maharashtra's Mahavikas Agadhi government is likely to be counting down the last hours. Former BJP chief minister Devendra Fadnavis yesterday claimed that the government was in the minority, with the Shiv Sena and the government having an estimated 50 MLAs in the Shinde faction. In view of this presentation, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari on Wednesday morning asked the Uddhav government to conduct a floor test.

The Shiv Sena has knocked on the door of the Supreme Court against the government's order for a floor test at 5 pm on Thursday and its hearing is set to take place in Delhi at 5 pm today. However, with the verdict, another important announcement could be made in Mumbai this evening at 5 pm as Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has called an important cabinet meeting this evening.

According to reports, Uddhav Thackeray may resign in today's cabinet meeting after a sudden decision by the Supreme Court.

Rebel MLAs in Goa:

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has finally announced a special session of the Legislative Assembly. With this, the political upheaval in Maharashtra has now taken a new turn. BJP and Independent MLAs can now catch a flight from Goa to Mumbai, not from Assam.

There are reports that Shiv Sena rebels led by Eknath Shinde will leave Guwahati for Goa today. The rebels are expected to stay at the Taj Resort and Convention Center and 77 rooms have been booked. The private jet is expected to land in Goa at 4:30 pm. Buses have arrived to pick up the MLAs after a week-long stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati and security has been beefed up.
