Shangri-La Dialogue: Only India can balance power in Asia: US Secretary of Defense

Amid China's aggressive stance and growing strength in the Indo-Pacific region, every country in the world is looking at India. All countries believe that only India can strike a balance of power in Asia. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin agrees. He said in the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore that only India's growing strength could bring stability to the Indo-Pacific region. The United States believes that India's growing military capability and technical prowess could be a stable force in the region.

Referring to India, he said that China was taking an aggressive stance in the Indo-Pacific region and was illegally increasing its maritime capabilities. China is tightening its grip on the border with India.

America stands with its friends

The US Secretary of Defense has said that China considers Taiwan its part. Apart from this, it also lays claim to some parts of other countries and adopts an aggressive attitude towards this. China is taking an aggressive and illegitimate approach to the South China Sea. In this, America stands with its ally. We stand firm in our personal defense commitments.

America ready to prevent future aggression

The US Secretary of Defense has said that China is taking an aggressive stance. He also has a border dispute with India and is taking an aggressive stance in the Ladakh sector. Apart from this, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia are claiming some parts. In this, America is fully prepared to prevent and defeat future aggression. "We also stand with our friends and work together to make our security framework more transparent and inclusive," he said.
