Sangli suicide case: Tantric removes family from road after drinking tea, shocking

Navi Mumbai, Ta. Tuesday, June 28, 2022

Sensation spread in the area in the wake of perhaps the first incident where nine people committed suicide simultaneously in Sangli, Maharashtra. Of all the nine members of the same family, 1 brother was a teacher and the other brother was a veterinarian. The incident was initially suspected by the police to be a mass suicide, a new twist in the case.

According to Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur Range) Manoj Kumar Lohia, a Tantric Abbas promised to find secret money for the Vanmore brothers (Dr. Manik Vanmore and Popat Vanmore) and in return took a large sum (about Rs 1 crore).

But no secret money was found so the brothers demanded their money back from Tantric. But Tantric Abbas did not want to return the money. The pressure on Tantric increased so much that Tantric planned to get the whole family off the road.

How to kill?

According to the preliminary investigation, the main accused Abbas Mohammad Ali Bagwan along with his driver Dhiraj Chandrakant Survashe reached the house of Vanmore brothers in Mahisal village on June 19, where Tantric started the ritual of finding the hidden treasure. After sending family members to the roof of the house, one called them down and asked them to drink tea, which contained no poisonous substance. It is suspected that the Vanmore family fainted and died after drinking the drink.

Only one vial was found near the body

Police initially thought it was a case of mass suicide, but police did not stop there. A bottle of poison was found at the scene.

Doubts kept growing

On the other hand, even after checking the suicide note, the police felt that something was wrong. Because usually in a suicide note the person writes the reason first and then blames the people. In this case, the names of some people were found written at the beginning of the suicide note. Not to mention that the family wanted to commit suicide.

It was alleged that the accused Tantric Abbas had misled the two brothers by writing the name of the lender under some pretext so that the matter could be portrayed as a mass suicide.

CCTV footage also came in front

Due to this suspicion, the police traced the old activities of the deceased Vanmore family. The investigation turned up a vehicle. In this case, the police examined the CCTV footage on the roads and found the location of the vehicle in Solapur. The investigation revealed that the person who used the vehicle was Abbas Mohammad Ali Bagwan.

Sangli district SP Dixit Gadam said the main accused Abbas Bagwan and Survase were arrested from Solapur. A case has been registered against them under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The interrogation of the accused is ongoing. Both will be produced in Sangli court today.
