Amid the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has once again raised the issue of political crisis in Rajasthan. According to the allegations leveled by Ashok Gehlot, BJP leader and Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Shekhawat and then Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot were involved in a conspiracy to overthrow the government in 2020. The two discussed the buying and selling of MLAs.

"Everyone knows that you yourself have hatched a conspiracy to overthrow the government," Ashok Gehlot told Gajendra Shekhawat. Now you are taking the name of Sachin Pilot that he made a mistake. Proved it, put a dent. You yourself met with them.

The attack followed Shekhawat's statement

In fact, during a meeting at Chomu village in Jaipur, Gajendra Shekhawat said that if Sachin Pilot had not missed the opportunity to change the government in Rajasthan, water would have come through the East Rajasthan Canal Project.

Regarding the notice served to Gajendra Shekhawat, he said, "What is the point of giving him a voice sample?" Besides, the case filed by Shekhawat against Lokesh Sharma was said to be against the thief Kotwal.

The long-running controversy

Gajendra Shekhawat is accused of being in touch with rebel Congress MLAs during the uprising against the Gehlot government. The tape related to it also went viral. The Rajasthan ACB had sought samples of Shekhawat's voice to confirm the authenticity of the tape but he has not yet responded to the ACB's summons. Shekhawat has now been sent a notice by the court for this.

BJP-Congress clash

The ruling Congress and BJP leaders in the state have clashed after a notice was sent to Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat. BJP state president Satish Poonia has accused the Congress government of abusing the police and other state agencies for the politics of revenge. In this regard, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has asked what is the point of giving a sample of his voice to the Union Minister.

Find out what happened

In Rajasthan, Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs revolted during July 2020, sparking a political crisis. The 3 audio clips of the telephonic conversation of that time went very viral. It was alleged by the Congress at the time that one of the voices in the conversation was that of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and that he was talking about a conspiracy to overthrow the state government.

Based on that audio clip, Mahesh Joshi, the government's chief whip, had lodged a complaint with the ACB against the MLAs' horse-trading efforts to overthrow the government.
