Military activity near China's Taiwan threatens unrest in the region: US

Addressing the Asian Defense Forum in Singapore, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin lashed out at China, saying "China's increased military activity near Taiwan has created unrest in the region."
The US Secretary of Defense had a meeting with the Chinese Defense Minister in Singapore. In it, the US Secretary of Defense advised China not to become unnecessarily aggressive towards Taiwan. Addressing the Asian Premier Defense Forum, Austin later said that China's military activity near Taiwan has increased unrest and insecurity in the entire region. Whatever the situation, the US will help Taiwan. The United States is committed to Taiwan's sovereignty.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin went so far as to say that there was evidence that China was carrying out military operations on a daily basis to threaten Taiwan. The United States respects China's one-China policy, but it is not appropriate to deny defense deals and other diplomatic relations with Taiwan. America is committed to regional peace and security. It is important for the government of each country to understand that there are ups and downs in the relations of each country. The Secretary of Defense added that peace can only be maintained if cooperation is enhanced by overcoming differences.
