Islamic organization apologizes to Nupur Sharma, issues fatwa against Owaisi-Madani for violence

New Delhi, Dt

The Muslim organization Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind has demanded the pardon of BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for allegedly making controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad Saheb in a TV debate on getting Shivling from Gyanvapi Masjid. The fatwa has been announced.

Former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who made controversial remarks on the Prophet Muhammad, should be pardoned according to Islam, said Suhaib Qasmi, chairman of the intellectual Muslim organization Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind. An organization of Muslim scholars has criticized the violence that has spread across the country in the wake of his remarks. Apart from this, Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind has also welcomed the BJP's decision to expel Nupur Sharma from the party.

Kasmi added that the Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind has decided to issue a "fatwa" urging the people not to support any kind of violence in relation to Nupur Sharma and her remarks. Jamaat said a fatwa would also be issued against Asaduddin Owaisi and Mohammad Madani. At the same time, Jamaat has appealed to the government to investigate several Muslim organizations and their funding. He said he would not allow other Muslim organizations to spread violence.

Meanwhile, the Muslim National Forum (MRM), affiliated with the RSS, slammed the violence in the country after Friday prayers on Sunday and demanded that those involved in the violence be expelled from Islam. The group said stoning, arson and riots after the prayers had not only discredited Islam, but also put Muslims to shame.

Indresh Kumar, the organisation's founder and national executive member of the RSS, termed the violence as a conspiracy to spread unrest in India and tarnish the country's image abroad. He further appealed to the Muslims to remain calm and not to be misled. The union also demanded that all state governments take immediate action against the rioters.
