India's history is glorious but most historians prefer Mughals: Home Minister Amit Shah

New delhi date. 10 June 2022 Friday

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that India had fought for 1,000 years for its culture, language and religion which was not in vain and the souls of those who sacrificed during this struggle would find peace today seeing the resurgence of India. Amit Shah said this in his address after releasing the book 'Maharana: Sahastra Varsho Ka Dharmayuddha'. On this occasion, he called upon the present writers and historians to leave a commentary on the history and present the glorious history of the country to the public as a reference book.

"When our effort is greater than anyone else's, the effort automatically goes down," he said. We should focus on making the effort bigger, criticizing about lies also promotes lies. No one stops us from writing our history. We are now independent. Nobody cares. We can write our own history. If any society wants to create its own bright future, it should take inspiration from its history, learn from it and expand its path by learning from its history.

History must be read, must be known

He said that the government curriculum provides knowledge of history but history has to be read, learned and it is not dependent on the government. If we start making reference books, we start writing history from our point of view, discuss it, study the new generation, then it is not too late. This fight is too long. This requires that we present our history to all.

Historians only discuss the Mughal Empire

The Union Home Minister said that the dust of time fell on many glorious events of history. The work of bringing the splendor of those events before the people by properly removing the dust of that time has been done through this book. This will remove misconceptions from the society. There were many empires in history but whenever the historians mentioned the empires they only discussed the Mughal Empire.

The Mauryan Empire lasted for 500 years, while the Gupta Empire lasted for 400 years

The Pandey Empire lasted for 800 years, while the Ahom Empire lasted for 650 years in Assam. This empire defeated Khilji to Aurangzeb and kept Assam independent. Similarly, the Pallava Empire lasted for 600 years, the Chalukya Empire for 600 years, the Mauryan Empire for 500 years and the Gupta Empire for 400 years. For the first time, Samudragupta dared to embody the idea of India, but no reference work has been written on it.
