G-7 meeting in Germany today amid thousands of demonstrations on issues including the environment

Thousands of protesters gathered in Munich on Saturday as leaders from several countries began arriving for a two-day G-7 summit in Germany's Bavarian Alps on Sunday. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also left to attend the G-7 meeting. As an invited country, India will raise issues like energy, food security, terrorism, environment in this meeting.

German police said they expected more than 30,000 protesters to gather in the Bavarian city, but that the main demonstration was attended by about 4,500. Protesters have called for a phased ban on fossil fuels, the conservation of animal and planetary biodiversity, social justice for all on earth, and concrete action against hunger.

"Our demand to the G-7 countries is a clear commitment on energy conversion, a complete cessation of fossil fuels by 202, and a halt to war and conflict," said Killian Walter, a demonstrator in Munich. We call on the G-7 leaders to work hard for global equality and poverty eradication.

The prime ministers-in-chief of the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan arrived in Germany on Saturday afternoon for a two-day G-7 summit. Will discuss issues such as climate change, energy and the food security crisis.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Germany at the invitation of German President Olaf Schulz to attend the G-7 summit. At the time, PM Modi said he would discuss issues like energy, food security, health, gender equality, terrorism, environment and democracy with the G-7 leaders. Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi expressed optimism about holding a 'productive' meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Schulz.

During his visit to Germany and the UAE, PM Modi will attend more than 15 meetings. Modi will also address an event of Indian society in Munich, which is likely to be the largest event since the Corona epidemic. Along with the G-7 meeting, Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with the presidents of seven rich countries of the world. PM Modi will attend the G-7 summit in Germany on May 6-7 and will visit the royal family in the UAE on June 9 and send a condolence message on the demise of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
