- Shiva devotees demanded to build a temple in the area where the stone was found

Controversy is raging across the country over the alleged acquisition of Shivling from Gyanvapi Masjid. Now a unique stone has been found from a well in Karanja city in Washim district of Maharashtra. The stone is claimed to be Shivling by the temple priest. As news spread in the city that Shivling had been found from a well, huge crowds of people were flocking to see it.
In fact, in view of the monsoon, a well at Tilak Chowk in the city was cleaned. While extracting mud etc. from the well, a large and different type of stone was also found in it. The stone found in the well weighs about 30 to 35 kg.
After a unique stone was found in the well, the people of the area called the priest of Jagat Janani Maa Bhavani temple in the city. According to the priest, the stone is shaped like a Shivling and is likely to be Narmadeshwar Shivling. It is believed to be about 200 years old.
It is said that the well which is more than 60 feet deep is more than 100 years old. The unique stone found in the well has been cleaned with water and installed under a nearby tree. Shiva devotees have demanded the government to build a Shiva temple at that place soon. The city magistrate informed the archeology department in writing after inspecting the unique stone.
