Will the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework defeat China in an economic war?

The talks took place ahead of the Tokyo Quad Summit and was attended by 13 countries, including Japan, the United States and India.

Tokyo: US President Joe Biden has announced the creation of an Indo-Pacific-Economic Framework. Talks to form this framework were held before the Quad Summit. In which 16 countries including USA and Japan participated. India also joined it. "This will allow us to meet the economic challenges of the 21st century," he said. It is said that this will be a joint effort on key issues such as digital economy, supply chain, reduction of carbon emissions and infrastructure.

Biden first spoke about this in October 2021. The proposal was prepared by the US Congressional Research Service in February 206. It said the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework would not be a traditional trade agreement but would focus on issues such as trade policies, supply chain, infrastructure and carbon emissions. Apart from this, issues like tax and anti-corruption will also be taken into consideration.

In this regard, experts say, the US wants to re-establish its prestige among friendly countries like Japan, India and South Korea.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership was actually withdrawn during the time of former President Donald Trump. After this, the coordination with the Asian countries of America decreased. China, on the other hand, has been consistently aggressive. And America is worried about its 'economic war'. This framework is designed to overcome it. Naturally, China has not joined that framework. The United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mongolia, Singapore and Taiwan are all expected to join, with India also expected to join.
