The Munsyari-Milam road in Uttarakhand will make it easier to reach the Chinese border

Dehradun, Dt
As India has been embroiled in a confrontation with eastern Ladakh since last year and China is expanding infrastructure along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, India has also insisted on building infrastructure in border areas to respond quickly. In this context, the strategically important Munsyari-Milam road in Uttarakhand, which has been under construction since 2012, will be completed before the end of 202 and this will make it much easier for the Indian Army to reach the Chinese border.
MNV Prasad, a senior official of the Border Roads Organization (BRO), said that the road being built on high mountains was to be completed by 2021, but many problems have arisen in building the road in difficult cliffs. In addition, the completion of the project has been delayed due to the Corona epidemic with temperatures below zero in winter. Once this important strategic route is completed, it will be easier for vehicles to reach the final security outposts in the Jauhar valley on the Indo-China border.
BRO 3 km. It is a long way off and it is expected to be completed by the end of 203. The initial target for completion of this project was 2015, but due to various reasons, it was increased to 2021. And now it has been increased to 203. Prasad added that the construction agency had constructed a 6 km stretch towards Munsyari. Has paved the way. But then the 12 km stretch passes through extremely rocky mountains, causing delays.
He added that a nine km road has also been constructed from Milam. With the completion of this road, it will be easier to transport goods to the final security checkpoints in the Jauhar valley on the Indo-China border. In addition, tourists visiting Milam Glacier and locals of Johar Valley will also benefit from this road.
Meanwhile, India and China will hold the 12th round of Corps Commander-level talks in the second fortnight of December to ease tensions along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. Sources said that an invitation would come from China for the 12th round of talks. The talks are likely to take place in the second fortnight of December. The two countries want to hold talks to resolve the impasse in the hot spring.
