Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid the foundation stone of Banas Dairy of Gujarat's Banaskantha District Milk Producers Union Ltd. in his parliamentary constituency of Karkhiyan in Varanasi. He also gifted 6 different projects worth Rs 2100 crore. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi addressing a public meeting said that cow may be a crime for some people but for us cow is mother. When elections were to be held in Uttar Pradesh next year, Modi made his second trip to Varanasi in just 10 days.

The Prime Minister said that we cannot talk about cows there. Some people have made it a crime. Cows may be a crime for some people, but for us cows are mothers, revered. People who make fun of cows and buffaloes forget that the livelihood of 30 million families in the country depends on such livestock. He added that our government of double engine in Uttar Pradesh is supporting farmers and pastoralists with honesty and strength. The foundation stone of Banas Kashi Complex has been laid here today, which is also a testament to this partnership of government and cooperation. Today, Uttar Pradesh is the largest milk producing state in the country, far ahead in the dairy sector. Animal husbandry can be a source of additional income for more than 100 million farmers in the country.

Attacking the opposition, the Prime Minister said, "I am talking about the double power of the double engine in the development of Uttar Pradesh. Some people are in more trouble." These are the people who have seen Uttar Pradesh only through the lens of caste, religion, creed. The Prime Minister had earlier laid the foundation stone of Banas Dairy Unit at Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority Food Park in Karkhiyanv village. Spread over an area of ​​about 50 acres, the dairy will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore and will produce five lakh liters of milk daily. The Prime Minister directed the more than 1,50,000 milk producers associated with Banas Dairy to pay an estimated Rs. 3 crore bonus was digitally transferred to his bank account. He also laid the foundation stone of Milk Producers Co-operative Union's biogas based power generation unit at Ramnagar, Varanasi.

The Prime Minister inaugurated several projects related to town development. It also includes six projects related to redevelopment of old Kashi ward, parking in Beni village, beautification of two lakes, sewage treatment plant in Ramna village and plans for modern surveillance cameras at 20 places under Smart City Mission.
