'Omicron explosion' in India: a total of 355 cases with 100 more in one day

New Delhi: As many as 100 new cases of corona virus have been reported in India in a single day as the case of Omicron, a new variant of Corona virus, exploded on Thursday. With this, there have been a total of 8 cases of Omicron in the country. Omicron eruptions were reported in the country on Thursday in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. In Tamil Nadu, 3 cases of Omicron were reported in one day while in Maharashtra, 3 cases were reported. In view of the threat posed by Omicron, the central government had suggested increasing vaccination and imposing night curfew in the elected states. Madhya Pradesh had imposed night curfew for fear of Corona. The Prime Minister called a special meeting to review the situation. In India, the omicron variant of Corona virus has spread to 17 states and union territories. While cases of Omicron are on the rise in the country, nine new cases were reported in Tamil Nadu, four in Maharashtra, 13 in Karnataka, seven in Gujarat and five in Kerala on Thursday. With this, the total number of Omicron cases in the country has gone up. In Maharashtra, the total number of patients infected with Omicron has gone up to 4, while in Chennai, 4 new cases of Omicron have been reported. Tamil Nadu Health Minister M. Subramanian said that recently 104 foreigners in the state have tested positive for corona.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday convened a special meeting to review the situation in view of the growing threat of Omicron in the country. Earlier, the Prime Minister had also reviewed the situation in a special meeting on November 9 regarding the dangers of Omicron. Along with this, the Central Government had issued a number of guidelines and instructions to the States and Union Territories. States have been asked to impose restrictions at the local level to prevent large crowds from gathering during Christmas and New Year celebrations.

To curb new cases of Omicron, the central government had directed the states, especially those to hold elections next year, to increase vaccination. He also advised to impose strict rules on night curfew and planning of large gatherings and gatherings. The Center asked the states to keep an eye on positive cases, doubling raids and clusters in the districts.

The central government further said that states should declare containment zones and buffer zones where more cases of corona and omicron are found. States should ensure that all people receive one dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine and also pay attention to the rapid vaccination of those eligible for another dose. States were asked to stock up on corona-related drugs, increase hospital beds, and keep oxygen plants and ventilators ready.

Meanwhile, the Shivraj government in Madhya Pradesh had imposed a night curfew across the state following fears of Omicron. There will be curfew in Madhya Pradesh from 11.00 pm to 9.00 am. Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan said that stricter rules would be enforced if needed. In Delhi, on the other hand, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that people need not rush to the hospital in panic. The government will arrange for the medicine to be delivered to the infected at home.

Meanwhile, a total of 2.3 new cases of corona were reported in the country and 4 more were killed. With this, the total number of cases of corona was 2,3,7,8 and the death toll was 2,8,6. The number of active cases rose to 2,31. So far, a total of 2,3,09,8 patients of Corona have been cured in the country.
