IT raid on trader's house in Uttar Pradesh: Note counting machines had to be taken away

Kanpur: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are slowly approaching and on the other hand, despite the freezing cold in the state, the political atmosphere in the state is heating up. Teams from the Income Tax (IT), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and GST are on standby in the state. On Thursday, the Income Tax department raided the house of Piyush Jain, a perfume trader in Kannauj. It is said that when the IT team went to carry out the raid, they also took a note counting machine with them. Piyush Jain is a supporter of the Samajwadi Party ideology and has close ties with Akhilesh Yadav.

Uttar Pradesh is currently experiencing freezing temperatures, but the state's political climate has heated up due to raids by IT teams on the homes of Samajwadi Party leaders and wealthy people close to them. The GST department raided the Kanpur-based Shikhar Pan Masala manufacturing company and its owners' house on Wednesday and now on Thursday, an IT team raided the home of a perfume trader in Kannauj and launched a search operation which was found to be ongoing till this writing.

Pius Jain, a resident of Anandpuri area under Juhi police station, is running a large scale perfume business at Kannaud and his business network has spread to other states of the country. However, it is said that Piyush Jain had an IT raid on his house as he had close ties with the Samajwadi Party.
