With the Delhi government's decision to reduce the VAT on petrol, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has been reduced by Rs. After the reduction in VAT, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the government's decision would help the people of Delhi get relief from inflation.

Kejriwal further said that petrol has become cheaper in the National Capital Region (NCR) as compared to other cities. After reduction in VAT, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has come down from Rs 108 to Rs 5. The reduction in petrol prices will take effect from midnight on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Delhi government, diesel prices in Delhi are already the lowest in the NCR. In Delhi, the price of a liter of diesel is Rs 4.5. In Noida and Gurgaon, diesel is priced at Rs 4.01 and Rs 5.11, respectively.

A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has decided to reduce VAT on petrol from 20 per cent to 12.5 per cent. As a result, the price of a liter of petrol has come down by Rs 8, an official statement said.

"We have made petrol cheaper in Delhi today," Kejriwal said on Twitter. VAT has been reduced from 20 per cent to 12.5 per cent. Petrol and diesel have become cheaper in Delhi as compared to other cities in NCR. I hope that our decision will help Delhiites to get relief from inflation.

Last year, the Delhi government increased VAT from 5 per cent to 20 per cent. Today, VAT has been reduced by 10.2 per cent. However, the Delhi Goods Transport Organization has expressed displeasure over the non-reduction of VAT on diesel.
