(PTI) New delhi date. 3

As the level of air pollution in Delhi rises, the Delhi government has announced to keep schools closed till further orders. However the board examinations will be continued as per its schedule and the teaching work will be continued online.

The Supreme Court has slammed the Delhi government for introducing offline education despite rising air pollution levels in the country, forcing the Delhi government to announce closure of schools.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said Delhi's schools were reopened keeping in view the expectation that air quality would improve. However, as air pollution continues to rise, we have again announced the closure of schools from today until further notice.

Education Minister Manish Sisodia said all board exams would be held on time. It may be mentioned that offline education in schools, colleges and other educational institutions was stopped from November 15 due to rising pollution in Delhi. However, offline education was provided in schools and colleges from Monday, i.e. November 4.

Construction and demolition activities in the city have also been banned till further notice in view of the high level of pollution. Delhi's AQI was 90 at 3 pm today. Which is considered serious.

Air quality in Delhi in November this year has been the worst in November compared to last seven years. The ban on trucks other than essential services has been extended till December 7. However, CNG and electric trucks have been exempted from the ban.
