Why government and court control over festival celebrations: Attack on tradition

Citizens express outrage on social media

Garba in Navratri, water-colored fun in Holi and control of fireworks in Diwali

Firecrackers subject to rules can only be blown up: Supreme Court

New Delhi: Just as each state issues its own ban on the firing of fireworks during the Diwali festival or a few hours, the courts of different states have pointed out that instead of taking decisions that maintain a certain consistency across the country, citizens are in a dilemma. Then one can see the rock of why there are restrictions on the celebration of festivals again on social media.

Citizens are outraged that Holi is being celebrated not only with water and color but also with tilak. Instead of emphasizing that water should not be wasted and harmful colors should not be used, Holi is losing its core.

Countries around the world play Holi in their own way or campfire. The Navratri celebrations only appeared to the state government for a ban. Garba could have been kept in the party plot with control. Thousands, millions of people have been flocking to pilgrimages, temples and malls.

In the same way, when the festival of Shivaratri comes, some classes spread the propaganda that Lord Shiva should not be anointed with water or milk. Here, too, there seems to be a well-organized effort to eradicate tradition and faith instead of sending a message to minimize waste. The concept of Jeevadaya is excellent and welcome in the festival of Uttarayan but the anti-festival gangs are making a fuss to the extent of banning kite flying as soon as the opportunity arises.

Pollution has plagued the country. The level of air pollution in the country, including Delhi, is very worrying. Cattle skins, chemicals and sewage are dumped in the rivers. Millions of tons of electronic gadgets are dumped into the sea. Mountains of rubbish have piled up. However, for two days of the Diwali festival, a class is calling for firecrackers. PILs have been filed for this in different courts.

Now the Supreme Court has given a welcome verdict that firecrackers made in a way that is not harmful to health can only be detonated. For this, it is the responsibility of the state government to check the quality of the license or fireworks. Every state government should not play the politics of banning or controlling the celebration of festivals to please certain sections of the people by keeping an eye on its vote bank.
