Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday hosted a Diwali dinner for guests from a school in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, at his official residence in New Delhi. Rahul Gandhi visited the school earlier this year during the Assembly election campaign.
Located in Mulgumudu, the school is called St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School. It was in this school that Rahul Gandhi did push-ups. Rahul Gandhi shared a video of the conversation during the dinner on Twitter and wrote that his visit made Diwali even more special. This confluence of cultures is the greatest strength of our country and we must protect it.
In a one-minute video shared on Twitter, a guest asked him which order he would give first if he became prime minister. In response, Kerala's Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi said, "I will give reservations to women."
Asked what he would teach his children, Rahul Gandhi said, "If someone asks me what you will teach your children, I will say only one thing: Humility, because humility gives us understanding."
During the Diwali dinner, Rahul Gandhi also talked to the guests about Chhole Bhature. As can be seen in the video, one person praised the support of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's peasant movement. At the same time, he said, it shows your solidarity with the people.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also interacted with the guests at the Diwali dinner. They sang songs with him and wished him a happy Diwali.
