Tejas aircraft equipped with hammer missiles will become more powerful

India will buy a hammer from France

French hammer missiles capable of destroying strong bunkers more than 70 km away

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has ordered the purchase of hammer missiles from France to boost the capacity of its indigenous lightweight Tejas fighter jet. These missiles are capable of blowing up any strong bunker at a distance of more than 70 km.

The hammer is known as the Highly Agile Modular Munich Extended Range Missile. The Indian Air Force acquired the first batch of hammer missiles for Rafale aircraft. Given China's aggressive nature, France was ready to supply these missiles in a very short time. France developed these missiles for its air force and navy.

The Indian Air Force currently has two Tejas squadrons in operation. Tejat aircraft is considered to be more advanced and capable than the joint venture JF-17 aircraft of Pakistan and China. The Tejas will now be fitted with hammer missiles which will increase its capacity.
