Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik has been targeting the NCB, Samir Wankhede and his family members in the drug case. Now Samir Wankhede's father Dhyandev Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against Nawab Malik in the Bombay High Court.

Samir Wankhede is the zonal director of the Mumbai NCB and was the investigating officer in all the cases involving Bollywood, including Aryan Khan, Nawab Malik's son-in-law Samir Khan. However, recently 6 cases including Aryan Khan have been withdrawn from him.

Wankhede's lawyer Arshad Sheikh said Malik was calling Wankhede's family a fraud and questioning their religion, saying they were not Hindus. Malik calls the whole family a fraud every day and is also ruining the career of his daughter Yasmin, who is a criminal lawyer and does not advocate in narcotics cases.

In the defamation case, it is alleged that Malik inflicted irreparable damage on the name, character, reputation and social image of the plaintiff and his family members due to prejudice. Dhyandev demands that Malik, his party leaders and everyone else be stopped from writing, speaking or publishing anything objectionable, defamatory in the media against him and his family.

Dhyanadev requested the High Court to declare that Malik's statements, whether written or oral, whether they were made on social media by him or his family, were outrageous and defamatory in nature. Not only that, Dhyanadev also demanded the removal of interviews and statements from other places including electronic and social media.

Dhyandev said in his complaint that Nawab Malik's allegations against Wankhede started after his son-in-law was arrested in a drugs case. Sameer Khan was granted bail in September. Since then, Malik has been besieging Wankhede every day through social media or press conferences. Dhyanadev has filed a defamation suit against Nawab Malik for Rs 1.25 crore and the matter will be heard on Monday.
