Rajasthan Chief Minister Gehlot allotted accounts to new ministers


The new cabinet includes 19 cabinet ministers and 10 ministers of state

The Chief Minister kept important accounts like housing and finance with him

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday allotted his accounts to all the ministers included in his expanded cabinet. However, the Chief Minister kept important accounts like finance in the House.

The new cabinet, which was expanded on Sunday, included 12 new ministers, while three ministers of state were promoted to cabinet ministers. The 15 ministers in the new cabinet, expanded by Gehlot, took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.

The demand of Sachin Pilot, who is considered a fierce rival of 8 Gehlot to form a new cabinet, was met. Apart from Home and Finance, the Chief Minister also kept other accounts like Taxation, General Administration, Cabinet Secretariat, Information and Public Relations, NRI and Rajasthan State Investigation Bureau without any allocation.

Following the expansion, the size of the state cabinet was increased to 29, with 19 ministers being given cabinet rank and 10 ministers being given state rank. As per the rules, Rajasthan can have a cabinet consisting of 30 ministers, including the chief minister. Food and Civil Supplies Department was given to Pratap Singh Kachariawas who was included in the old cabinet.

When Lalchand Kataria was given back his original agriculture account. Pramod Jain Bhaya was given the ministry of mines and Saleh Mohammad the ministry of minority affairs and Udaylal Anjana the ministry of co-operation and Shanti Dhariwal the ministry of urban development and housing and parliamentary affairs. Kachariyawas was earlier the transport minister.
