Emergency landing of flight to Patna at Nagpur

One of the two engines of the plane malfunctioned, the passengers were taken to Patna by an alternate plane.

Nagpur: As many as 139 passengers were stranded on Saturday when a Go-First flight from Bengaluru to Patna failed due to engine failure. However, the passengers were relieved when the plane successfully made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport.

The Go-Air flight from Bangalore to Patna made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport around 11.15 this morning. The landing was safe.

According to the information received, the emergency landing of GoAir's G8-873 flight had to be made due to engine failure. The pilot of the flight contacted Nagpur ATC and requested for an emergency landing at Nagpur airport stating that there was something wrong with one of the engines of the flight.

Following the announcement of the full-scale emergency, runways were made available at Nagpur Airport and arrangements were made for necessary coordination with firefighters, doctors, ambulances and police.

Fortunately, the flight landed safely. In addition to the crew members on board the flight, another flight was arranged for 139 passengers who flew to Patna at 4.45 pm. And the said flight is being thoroughly investigated.
