Anil will have to spend 22 years in jail without parole
LONDON: A British man has been sentenced to life in prison by a UK court for stabbing his wife to death in the Milton Keynes area of south-east England. In January this year, Thames Valley police arrested the killer, Anil Gill, 47, on charges of murdering his wife Ranjit Gill, 43.
Surprisingly, the killer poked himself and called the police at his home. Police noticed a number of stab wounds to his body. Anil was charged with murder by police last February.
On Friday, the Vutton Crown Court here convicted Anil of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment, meaning he would have to spend 22 consecutive years behind bars without any parole. The only penalty for murder is life imprisonment, and the minimum sentence is 22 years.
