In 2021-22 so far a total of Rs. 1,12,489 crore tax refund paid

- Refund payment to 91.30 lakh taxpayers

- Total refunds are Rs. 33,548 crore income tax refund, Rs. 78,942 crore corporate tax refund involved

New Delhi: More than Rs 1,13,8 crore has been paid as tax refunds to taxpayers so far in the current financial year, the CBDT said in a statement.

The CBDT is the apex decision making body for the income tax department. According to Income Tax Department officials, out of the Rs 1,13,8 crore refunds, Rs 4.5 crore is for income tax refunds while Rs 4.5 crore is for corporate tax refunds. A total of Rs 4.5 crore has been paid in 2,6,7 cases of income tax refunds. While a total of Rs 4.5 crore has been paid in 1,3,8 cases of corporate tax refunds, according to the official Twitter account of the Income Tax Department. The Income-tax department further said that between April 1, 2021 and November 1, 2021, refunds amounting to Rs 1,13,8 crore have been paid to 31.50 lakh taxpayers. It may be mentioned that the last date for filing income tax return (ITR) is December 31, 2021.
