Heavy traffic jam on Noida Highway in Delhi till 29th


Despite improved visibility due to wind in Delhi, air quality is still poor

Government offices, schools and colleges will be closed for a week, except for necessities of life.

Noida: The entry of trucks in the capital Delhi has been banned till the 26th. This led to a long line on the Delhi-Noida border and heavy traffic jams. The measures taken to curb pollution had stopped thousands of vehicles on the road. Monday being the first working day of the week, several vehicles were seen on the road.

The Delhi government has banned the entry of trucks carrying non-essential goods into Delhi to address air pollution, which has been extended till November 26.

At the same time, the Delhi government has ordered its employees to continue work from home. Schools and colleges have also been asked to remain closed till further notice. The circular also said that other government offices would be closed till November 26, excluding those involved in essential services.

An order issued by the environment department in Delhi said that the rules were enforced in view of the poor air quality forecast and restrictions on vehicular traffic. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research, Delhi-NCR air quality remained in the worst category for the ninth day in a row on Monday.

However, the latter saw a slight improvement in air quality due to strong winds and good visibility. But the air quality AQI 307 was put in the bad category. Long lines were formed at the Delhi-Noida border as entry of trucks was banned in the capital till the 26th.
