An all-party meeting was held on Sunday in which the Opposition has made its position clear and has shown readiness to surround the government on a number of issues.

On the first day of the winter session, the government will introduce a bill in the Lok Sabha repealing agricultural laws. Which could also be supported by the Opposition as the bill would repeal the government's three controversial agricultural laws. Farmers have been demanding it for the last one year.

Other bills to be introduced include major bills like electricity, pension, cryptocurrency, banking law amendment etc. The most controversial bills include a bill banning private cryptocurrency in addition to a bill to repeal agricultural laws.

The cryptocurrency bill calls for the creation of a supporting structure for the official digital currency issued by the Reserve Bank of India. While all private cryptocurrencies in India will be banned.

Opposition groups called for a halt to the protests on Sunday.

The opposition has also demanded that the government introduce a women's reserve bill in this session. The demanding parties include TMC, YSR Congress and DMK. The Women's Reserve Bill has been pending in Parliament since 2010. In which 33% reservation has been provided to women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.

The reserve has been demanded to be given to women for 15 years. Now the opposition is demanding that the bill be re-introduced in Parliament for re-discussion. The winter session of Parliament will begin on Monday the 29th and will last till December 23. On the other hand, the ruling BJP and the Opposition have issued whips to their MPs to be present in Parliament this winter session. So that every MP must be present in Parliament.

Repeal CAA as per agricultural law: Sangma

Agatha Sangma, leader of the NDA's ally National People's Party, who was present at the all-party meeting a day before the winter session, demanded that the government should repeal the CAA as well as the agricultural law.

Meghalaya MP Sangma had urged the government to repeal the CAA i.e. Citizenship Amendment Act if the agricultural laws could be repealed keeping in view the demands of the people. However, the government did not respond to a request for comment.

The CAA was opposed in many states in the country, including the northeastern states. The law provides for granting Indian citizenship to minority citizens of neighboring countries, including Hindus, Sikhs, etc. from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and other countries. However, there was controversy over not including Muslims.
