Development in agriculture sector postponed for 10 years due to repeal of agricultural laws: Experts

New Delhi, Dt
Announcing the repeal of the three agricultural laws, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation on Friday that the government had come up with these laws for the welfare of the country's farmers with good generosity and dedication, but the government could not explain to some farmers. Experts in the field of agriculture in the country agree with the Prime Minister's statement. Experts believe that the repeal of this law has pushed back the development of the agricultural sector for a decade. Farmers could not understand the laws introduced with good donations.
Experts said that the central government had to take back the agricultural law due to growing political opposition and the peasant movement on the issue of agricultural law. The Modi government may have taken this decision with a sad heart. In fact these laws were brought in with good donations. Withdrawal of these laws is likely to be a major blow to the country's development. The effect of this measure will be that even future governments will now avoid making major reform decisions for agriculture and labor.
He added that if a radical change is decided, it is possible to oppose it for political reasons. Somewhere or other, the vehicle of development may be damaged. The way the Modi government was looking at agriculture as a business was taking reformist measures on issues like true value of produce beyond land, commercial use of agricultural produce, fair value of their produce to farmers, exemption of agricultural produce from farmers. But now the implementation of these measures has definitely been postponed for 10 years. This will not only hit the agricultural sector but also the unorganized sector workers will now be deprived of reforms.
The Modi government should continue these reforms of change on a small scale somewhere. The Centre's retreat has shattered the hopes of improving the food processing industry and the food-based industry. Agricultural laws were broadly beneficial to farmers. This was a big blow to the country's GDP, which is also a big blow. The repeal of these laws will cause huge losses to the industries like insurance, food processing, unorganized service sector etc. In addition, the lack of full use of agricultural land has reduced the prospects for the country's economy to grow. The biggest reason for the protests is that the government will be reluctant to take any bold decision in the near future, which is not appropriate in terms of the progress of the developing country, experts said.
