The sixth great festival has started from today. The sixth festival is celebrated on the sixth day of the month of Kartak, 6 days after Diwali. There is a tradition of bathing and eating on the first day of this 4 day festival. The sixth festival is also being celebrated in the capital Delhi. But the pictures that are coming in front of Delhi's six ghats are very shocking.

Poisonous foam has accumulated in the river Yamuna and devotees have to bathe in between. However, in the wake of Corona, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has not allowed Chath Puja on the banks of the Yamuna River.

According to the news agency, poisonous foam is floating in the river Yamuna in Kalindi Kunj area and devotees are bathing among such foam.

The air in the capital Delhi has become toxic due to straw burning in neighboring states and fireworks during Diwali. Rising ammonia levels in the Yamuna River have caused foam to turn and also affected the water supply.

Political heat

Politics has heated up after images surfaced of people bathing in the Yamuna River amid foam. BJP leader Amit Malvi has taken to Twitter to surround Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. While BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has also besieged the Kejriwal government and questioned whether this was the reason for banning Chhath Puja on the banks of Yamuna.
