Covaxin and Covishield are recognized by 96 countries, with over 109 million doses given in the country.

Two vaccines have been developed in India to protect citizens against the corona virus. There is an indigenous co-vaccine made by Bharat Biotech Company of Hyderabad. The other vaccine is Covishield, developed jointly by Oxford-Astragenica and the Serum Institute of India. So far, both vaccines have been recognized in 96 countries around the world.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandvia's statement came after Bharat Biotech's Corona vaccine covexin was included in the Emergency Use List (EUL) by the WHO. He said that WHO has so far included 8 vaccines in EUL (Emergency Use List). We are glad that two of these vaccines are Indian - Covexin and Covishield. Both vaccines are recognized by 96 countries around the world.

More than 109 million corona vaccines have been administered in the country so far. Under 'Har Ghar Dastak', health workers are visiting all the houses to carry out the vaccination campaign. Covexin and CoveShield are recognized by 96 countries. You can check the list through the CoWIN application.

With the approval of WHO, people who have taken covacin will now be able to travel abroad without any hindrance. Vaccines approved so far by the WHO other than covacin include Pfizer / Bioentech's Cominternity, AstraZeneca's Covishield, Johnson & Johnson's Vaccine, Modern's MRNA-1273, Synopharma's BBIBP-Corvi and Synovac's CoronaVac.
