In Bihar's Gopalganj and West Champaran, 24 people have died in the last two days due to poisoning. These incidents are opening a poll of alcoholism claims in Bihar. In Bihar, 40 people have died in the last 15 days. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a stern stance on the incidents and ordered action against the culprits.

Nitish Kumar had called a high-level meeting on Friday over the deaths in the massacre and directed the concerned authorities to take drastic action. He also directed the authorities to identify the culprits and take action against them.

In this direction, the District Collector of Gopalganj, Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary said 11 people were killed. He said that based on the facts that have come to light so far, there is information that alcohol has been made with spirit. However, the exact details will be known after the FSL report arrives. According to people's statements, deaths have been reported due to toxic alcohol but it has not been officially confirmed yet.

In the last 24 hours, anti-alcohol campaigns have been launched in the district and more than 50 places have been raided and 19 people have been arrested, said Gopalganj SP Anand Kumar. Apart from that, 270 liters of domestic liquor and 6 vehicles have been seized. If the matter comes up against the negligence of any police personnel, action will be taken against him.
