It was Rahul and Priyanka who gave full cooperation and support to Navjot

You may have thought that I am old and should be thrown in the trash, but I am neither old nor retired: Captain's message to Sonia

Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday resigned from the Congress and announced the name of the Punjab Lok Congress party he founded. At a time when the Punjab Assembly elections were approaching, Amarinder Singh formed a new party which would shape new political equations in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Amarinder Singh will formally launch the activities of his new political party after receiving a certificate that the country's Election Commission has no objection to the party's name.

There was a recent report that Amarinder Singh was holding backdoor talks with the party high command to return to the Congress, but Amarinder Singh refuted the report saying that the time for compromise was now over.

In his seven-page resignation letter, Amarinder Singh lashed out at the high command for plotting to overthrow his state chief minister. In his resignation letter addressed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the captain described the list of achievements made by the state during his tenure.

Apart from the high command, Amarinder also slammed Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu and Congress in-charge Harish Rawat. It may be mentioned that after a bitter struggle with Navjot Singh Sidhu, the captain resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab.

In his resignation, the captain told Sonia Gandhi that despite knowing his 52 years of public life well, he never understood her or her character. He accused Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi of supporting Sidhu. Instead of controlling Navjot Singh, Rahul and Priyanka supported all his activities, the captain said.

You may have thought that I am old so I should throw it in the trash now, but I am neither tired nor retired. I still believe that I have immense powers for the welfare of the state of Punjab. "I still want to be a soldier of the state because I am not tired at all," Amarinder Singh wrote to Sonia in clear words.

Expressing his displeasure over handing over the charge of Punjab Congress to Navjot Singh Sidhu, the captain said that despite almost all the MPs of Punjab and my own strong objections and opposition, you have appointed a person like Navjot Singh who has respect and faith in Pakistan as the state president. The military chief met General Bajwa and Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Bajwa and Imran Khan are the ones who export terrorists from Pakistan to kill innocent Indians. Attacking Sidhu with acid, the captain wrote in his resignation that Sidhu was the only one who was able to regularly criticize me and my government.
