Samir Wankhede's father has filed a defamation suit against Nawab Malik in the Bombay High Court and demanded Rs 1.5 crore in compensation.

Nawab Malik's team also provided Samir Wankhede's school admission form and primary school certificate to the Bombay High Court as evidence.
