The wheels of 200 trains had to be stopped due to farmers' stop rail movement



The wheels of 3 trains came to a standstill due to the farmers' stop rail movement. Out of these 3 trains had to be canceled. The Stop Rail Movement was most affected in North India. Farmers stopped the train at several stations in North India. Most of the trains were canceled in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.
The farmers' stop rail movement had a widespread impact in the northern Indian states. In the northern Indian states, farmers stopped trains at about 150 stations. The wheels of 6 trains stopped. Out of these, 3 trains had to be canceled. Forty trains in the Northern Railway zone were delayed and many passengers were disturbed.
Thousands of passengers were stranded in the wake of the Stop Rail movement. According to the Northern Railway Zone, rail traffic was most affected in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. In Rajasthan and Haryana, 18 trains were diagnosed with cancer. Another station was diverted. A Northern Railway official said six short-distance trains were canceled on the Delhi route.
Farmers agitated at railway stations in cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, Ferozepur in Punjab and Charkhi Dadri, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Hisar in Haryana and stopped all trains. In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, Indian Farmers Union activists staged a picket on the railway tracks to stop the Amritsar-Delhi and Jalandhar Express. The farmers chanted slogans against the government. A large number of women from farming families also joined the protesters.
Odisha also saw the impact of the Stop Rail movement. Most of the trains in Odisha were delayed by 30 minutes to an hour and a half due to the Stop Rail movement.
