MUMBAI: Mumbai zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Samipar Wankhede has been embroiled in a controversy since he raided a cruise ship rave party at sea near Mumbai.

Wankhede is now in trouble after Prabhakar Sail, a witness, claimed that the NCB had demanded Rs 25 crore to release actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan. Money laundering is suspected in this case and a departmental inquiry has now been ordered against Wankhede. Three NCB officials from Delhi will arrive in Mumbai on Tuesday to investigate the matter.

The vigilance department has been assigned to investigate the matter. NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh has been assigned the responsibility of investigation. Wankhede was called to Delhi. It is said that a decision will be taken on whether the cruise ship drugs party will investigate the case in Wankhede itself.

"If any of our officers are accused, we will conduct an impartial inquiry," Gyaneshwar Singh said. It is to be noted that under the guidance of Gyaneshwar Singh, we have to come to Mumbai to record the statement of three officers to collect evidence. The investigation report of this case will be handed over to the DG of NCB. Then further action will be decided.

Wankhede has denied the allegations made by witness Prabhakar. NCB chief Wankhede had written a letter to the Mumbai police commissioner. Attempts are being made to frame the case and mislead the investigation. Therefore, it is in the interest of the investigation not to arrest him and not to take legal action against him, the letter said.

Prabhakar Sail, bodyguard of Kiran Gosavi, a fugitive main witness in the drugs case, claimed that the NCB had demanded Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan to release Aryan while Sameer Wankhede was to get Rs 8 crore. Wankhede had signed nine to ten blank papers and Prabhakar had also said that his life was in danger.

Fugitive witness Kiran Gosavi, who was seen in a selfie with Aryan Khan during a cruise ship rave party raid, has given important information regarding the case. Kiran Gosavi claimed that the allegations made by witness Prabhakar Sail were false and that he was receiving death threats. He also said that he did not know Samir Wankhede.

Kiran Gosavi informed over phone that all the allegations against her were false. I was in Mumbai till October 6. There were a number of threatening phone calls between 3 and 6 October. My life is in danger. I have a record of threatening phone calls I have not escaped. The witness has a measured acquaintance with Prabhakar. It worked for me. But he is not aware of the allegations. I didn't talk about money.

Cruise Drugs Chapter: Ananya Pandey did not appear before the NCB

Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey today failed to appear before the NCB over a cruise drugs case. The NCB today asked Ananya to appear for further inquiries into the alleged WhatsApp chat with Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was arrested in a drugs case.

Earlier last week, the NCB questioned him for two consecutive days and asked him to be present again on Monday. She was expected to be present around 11 a.m. today although she was not present.

Ananya was questioned by the NCB for four hours on Friday in a drug case involving Aryan Khan. The NCB wanted to know more about the drug case between Aryan Khan and Ananya on the WhatsApp, so Ananya was questioned. Ananya, 22, made her Bollywood debut in 2019.

Ananya was also questioned by the NCB for two hours on Thursday. The NCB arrested a total of 19 people, including 23-year-old Aryan Khan, in a cruise ship drugs case. Aryan Khan is currently in judicial custody. Aryan's bail plea is likely to be heard in the Bombay High Court today.

The WhatsApp chat between Aryan and Ananya came out during the investigation of the case. Ananya was called as the NCB officials had to gather more information about the chat in the whole affair. Earlier, the NCB also seized Ananya's mobile and laptop on Thursday and sent her for investigation.
