I am the full time president in the Congress: Sonia's response to G-23

New Delhi, Dt
"I am the full-time president of the Congress and there is no need to talk to me through the media," Sonia Gandhi told the disgruntled G-7 leaders at a meeting of the Congress working committee on Saturday. With this, Sonia Gandhi has given a clear message to the G-7 leaders who have raised the issue of absence of elected president and lack of leadership in the party that they will dominate the party. However, according to a report, Rahul Gandhi is likely to become the Congress president again in 203.
"Only unity, self-control, discipline and the party's interests can be revived in the country. Reprimanding the G-7 leaders who criticized the party in the media, the Congress president said, "I always welcome openness and honesty and there is no need to talk to me through the media."

At the beginning of the Congress working committee meeting, Sonia Gandhi said, "Let us have a free and honest discussion, but the only message that should go out of the four walls of this room is that whatever decision is taken is a collective decision of the working committee." Congress leader Kapil Sibal recently said that no one knows who takes decisions when there is no president in the party. Sonia made the statement in response to his remarks.
Ghulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal, both G-7 leaders, last year called for a sweeping change in the party. He also demanded that a meeting of the working committee be convened as soon as possible to discuss the party's position in the wake of recent party coups. In the executive meeting, Sonia Gandhi also presented the election program in the party's organization before the executive committee. According to sources, elections for the Congress presidency are likely to be held in September 207.
Sonia Gandhi, 6, said that in the last two years, the youth have played a leading role in the party's policies and programs with the people. With regard to the forthcoming Assembly elections, the Congress president said that the party has already started its preparations. "I am confident that we will do well if we work together, in a disciplined manner and with the interests of the party in mind," he added. At the Congress Executive Committee meeting, Sonia Gandhi also spoke on issues including the Lakhimpur violence and the sudden rise in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is likely to lead the party once again. Indications have been given in this regard in the meeting of the Congress Executive Committee. According to sources, when asked by senior leaders to lead the party, Rahul Gandhi asked them to think about it. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had named Rahul Gandhi for the post. All the members unanimously agreed on this. Rahul Gandhi is also said to have spoken to party leaders about the need for clarity at the ideological level.
