G-23 leaders were outraged by the protest outside Sibal's house

Captain Amarinder also condemned the sabotage

The leaders demanded before Sonia Gandhi to take stern action against the Congress workers who were committing hooliganism.

New Delhi: Other senior party leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma on Thursday slammed the protest outside the house of senior Congress leader Kapil Sibalap and termed the protest as "organized hooliganism" by Congress workers.

The leaders demanded that Congress president Sonia Gandhi take stern action against the Congress workers who took part in the protests. Kapil Sibal had criticized the working style of the Congress party and publicly lamented the absence of an elected president in the Congress, in protest of which some activists smashed the windows of Sibal's house in protest.

Amarinder Singh also slammed the protest in front of Sibal's house and said that Sibal's house was attacked for expressing his opinion that he did not like the Congress high command.

"All this is not going well for the Congress," said Capt Amarinder. Ghulam Nabi Azad, a former Congress leader in the Rajya Sabha, also slammed the planned hooliganism by Congress workers. Kapil Sibal is a very loyal Congress worker. He is fighting for the party both inside and outside Parliament.

Azad, one of the G23 leaders along with Kapil Sibal, tweeted on his Twitter handle that any suggestion from any party leader should be welcomed rather than suppressed, and that hooliganism should not be tolerated at all.

It may be recalled that these leaders, known as G-23s in the Congress, wrote a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi last year publicly demanding democratic elections for all office bearers, including the party president, and since then Sonia Gandhi has considered all these leaders as rebel leaders. Different views and opinions are an integral part of democracy but violence and hooliganism are against the values of the Congress, said Anand Sharma, another G-23 leader.
