Banks will be closed for 21 days in October, according to the RBI's bank holiday note

- Bank Holidays Banks will not be closed for 21 days in a row as there are different festivals in different states.

The festivities will begin in October. These festivals will be held on different days in different states for a total of 15 days bank-holiday. Banks will be closed for a total of 21 days in a month, adding a total of six Saturday-Sunday holidays from the list announced by the Reserve Bank. However there is no need to worry too much as those holidays will be sporadically during different festivals in different states. Ta. The list of bank holidays starting from October 1 is as follows (by RBI):

1. Oct. 1 - Half-yearly closing of bank accounts (Gangtok)

. Oct. ૨ - Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (all over the country)

. Oct. 3 - Sunday

. Oct. 6 - Mahalaya Amavasya (Agartala, Bengaluru, Kolkata)

. Oct. 3 - Bailingthao - Sanamhino Mera Chauren Hauba (Imphal)

. Oct. 2 - Second Saturday

. Oct. 10 - Sunday

. Oct. 16 - Durga Puja (Maha-Saptami) / (Agartala, Kolkata (West Bengal)

. Oct. 12 - Durga Puja (Maha-Ashtami) / (Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi)

10. Oct. 18 - Durga Puja (Mahanavami, Ayutha Puja) / (Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram)
