The special court is likely to rule after the NCB's reply is recorded

MUMBAI: The Mumbai Sessions Court is set to hear the bail application of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan on Wednesday after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed a reply.

The court asked the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to file a reply on Wednesday morning and make arguments in the second half of the day. The Mumbai Magistrate's Court on Thursday remanded Aryan and seven others in judicial custody for 14 days.

The Esplanade court on Friday rejected the bail pleas of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchant and Moonmoon Dhamecha. The NCB seized drugs after raiding a party on a cruise ship in the Mumbai Pasha seas. On the night of October 2, an alleged drug party was raided on a Cordelia cruise ship bound for Goa from Mumbai.

Aryan, Arbaaz, Moonmoon, Vikrant Chokar, Ismeet Singh, Nupur Sarika, Gomit Chopra and Mohak Jeswal were remanded in NCB custody till October 7 after being produced in Esplanade Court on October 4. He was arrested on October 3 in connection with a drug seizure on a cruise ship. A special court under the NDPS Act said on Monday that the court would hear Aryan's bail application on Wednesday.

The NCB argued in court that there was no urgency to hear the petition and sought a week to file the affidavit. It was argued on behalf of Aryan that no objectionable prohibited object or other literature was found from him as it had deep roots in society. And there is no question of escaping. The bail investigation is not going to stop.

But our client (Aryan) does not need to be kept in custody after investigation when nothing (drugs) was found from him. Aryan has been in the custody of NCB for a week since his arrest and such statement has also been recorded twice. , The lawyers argued.

The NCB claimed that Aryan's WhatsApp chats discussed how to pay to buy drugs and used several code words. Apart from Aryan, four other Arbaaz Merchants, Moonmoon Dhamecha, Nupur Sateja and Mohak Jaiswal had also applied for bail in the special court.
