The United States successfully tested a hypersonic weapon flying at 6,200 km per hour

Washington: The United States has successfully tested a hypersonic weapon flying at a speed of 6,200 km per hour. The weapon flies at 3,853 miles per hour at five times the speed of sound.

The Pentagon says this is the first successful test since 2013. The test will accelerate the development of hypersonic weapons between the United States and its global rivals. These Next Generation Arms do their job in a very short time and defeat the traditional mechanisms.

In July, Russia said it had tested a Zircon hypersonic cruise missile. Vladimir Putin called it a new generation missile. This missile was considered the best of any missile in the world.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) said in a statement that the first free test flight of the Hypersonic Air-Breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC) was conducted.

"This successful test brings us closer to providing the next generation of American military capabilities," said Andrew Codler, HWC's program manager at DARPA's Tactical Technology Office. No date has been set for this, but we are now close to preparing it. We are working hard for the flight test to be held in the final part of this year.

Hypersonic weapons fly five times faster than sound. It can reach a speed of 2,500 km per hour. This missile is based on Raytheon technology.
