The RSS-affiliated Indian Farmers Union will hold a nationwide picket from 8 p.m.

Outrage among farmers for not getting fair MSP for agricultural crops

Farmers are not satisfied with their demands regarding anti-farmer laws

BALIYA: The Kisan Sangh of India, affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has decided to stage a dharna against the central government from September 8. Farmers in the union are angry that the government has not taken any decision even after an ultimatum of August 31 to reconsider three anti-farmer laws and the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

The minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural crops should actually be determined on the basis of price and the government should reduce the new laws in view of the concerns raised by farmers over the controversy created by the new agricultural laws implemented by the government, the farmers' union said.

With our demands, the Indian Farmers Union will hold a nationwide symbolic picket on September 8. "We have given the Narendra Modi government a deadline of August 31 to resolve our demands, but without any positive response from the government, we will hold a dharna on September 8," Kishan Mishra, treasurer of the Indian Farmers' Union, told reporters here on Wednesday.

In addition, on the day of the picket, a press conference will be organized at all the district headquarters in which the whole picture of the sufferings of the farmers will be presented. After September 8, we will plan for the future. Farmers do not get a fair price for their produce, Mishra added.
