Special train of 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' to promote religious tourism

New Delhi: Indian Railways has decided to promote religious tourism in the country by launching a special train service called 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' under the 'Dekho Apna Desh' initiative launched by the central government.

All the latest updates of Covid-19 have been taken into consideration. The tour will start after the deluxe AC tourist train Diwali and will depart from Safdarjung railway station on November 7.

This tour will cover all the prominent places associated with Lord Rama. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Subsidiary, have jointly decided the fare and route of the special trains.

The fare for this entire 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' tour is fixed at Rs.82,950 per person, including AC (first and second) classes, stay in AC hotel. Meals include sightseeing, travel insurance and IRCTC tour manager service.

Each compartment of this special train will have security guards and CCTV cameras. The entire journey will be 17 days long, covering a distance of 7,500 km. The train will have its first stop in Ayodhya. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Nandigram's Bharat Temple and Hanuman Temple will be visited by tourists during their stay in Ayodhya.

The next stop will be Sitamarhi in Bihar, the birthplace of mother Sita. The Ram-Janki temple in Janakpur will be visited by road. The temples of Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj will also be covered in this tour. The last stop will be Nashik, Rameshwaram and Hampi. On the 17th day, the train will return to Delhi and cover a distance of approximately 7,500 km.
