New Delhi: A total of Rs 31.16 crore worth of assets of Kerala-based financing group and its promoters have been seized in a money laundering case involving Rs 1,000 crore fraud with investors, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said in a statement.

Among the assets seized were land in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, 23 sturdy properties including buildings, 32 kg of gold deposited with depositors in 1132 bank accounts, Mercedes Benz, luxury cars including Toyota, 23 luxury cars and popular Fino. Included. The assets have been seized under a provisional order issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED said that Kerala police has registered 1300 FIRs in various districts in the case. In this case, a total of more than Rs 1000 crore has been defrauded with 3000 depositors. Popular finance company Thomas Daniel and Rinu Miriam Thomas (father-daughter) have a family controlled business spread across Kerala and other states.
