AHMEDABAD: The farmers' agitation against agricultural laws is gaining momentum again. Farmers held a Mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh,

Thousands of farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and other states joined. He also announced to engage farmers through such panchayats before the elections in Uttar Pradesh and across the country.

The farmers' mahapanchayat held in Muzaffarnagar was so large that a number of anchors were set up to provide food to the farmers. Farmers from about 300 major farmers' organizations of the country had arrived to participate in the mahapanchayat. Farmer leaders said from the platform that the central government was claiming that only a handful of farmers were opposing the agricultural law.

However, Union government ministers have come to Muzaffarnagar to see how many farmers have gathered to protest against the agricultural law. Farmer leaders said that farmers should make our voice so loud that it reaches the leaders sitting in Parliament. And they pay attention to our demands.

Both the withdrawal of agricultural laws and the legal recognition of support prices are among the various demands of farmers. With this in mind, the agitation started by the farmers is now going in a fierce direction again.

The farmers have announced to hold a meeting in Lucknow on 9-10. Rakesh Tikait, a farmer leader in the Mahapanchayat, said from the platform that the mission launched by the farmers' organization United Front would not be limited to UP and Uttarakhand but would spread across India, to save the country and the constitution.

The country's 140 million unemployed are also with us. Giving a slogan, Tikait said that neither support price nor vote. This government now has to hurt the vote. Tikait termed Yogi and Modi as leaders outside Uttar Pradesh and said that these people were the instigators of the riots and would not be accepted by the people of the state.

It was announced from the platform of this Mahapanchayat of more than 300 farmers' organizations that not only Uttar Pradesh but the entire country would take to the streets against the BJP. "Even if Delhi becomes our grave on the border, we will not leave and the agitation will continue," Rakesh Tikait said.

The farmers have also devised a strategy to hold such small and big panchayats in every state in the coming days to intensify the agitation. National Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary was also present on the dais.

At the meeting, Rakesh Tikait also mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "Modi is selling the country's wealth. We will tell the public what the government is selling." We will campaign in the name of Prime Minister Modi against the agricultural law as the BJP is doing the same.

The government has put up billboards in the country like India has sold out. LIC, the bank is selling everything. Adani and Ambani are buying it. This government is also selling water, the country's rivers are in danger. The constitution is in danger. The farmer woke up when the farm and the land came to a readable level.
